How do I change what Corey remembers?

Updated 16 July 2026

Corey remembers by writing plain files into a memory folder you own. To change what it knows, just tell it - "remember that...", "that's wrong, it's actually..." - and it updates the files. You can also open the memory folder and edit them yourself; they are readable text and the change takes effect next session.

Corey does not keep a hidden profile of you on a server somewhere. It remembers by writing plain text files into a memory/ folder inside your workspace - a profile of you and your work, an index of what it knows, and a short ledger of what it still needs to learn. It reads that folder at the start of every session.

That means changing what Corey remembers is easy, and you have two ways to do it.

Just tell it. “Remember that our pricing is now a flat 1%.” “That’s out of date - we moved off that supplier.” Corey updates the memory files for you.

Or edit the files. Open the memory/ folder and change the text yourself. It is readable, it is yours, and Corey picks up the change next session. To make it forget something, remove the lines - there is no special delete button, because it is all just files you control.

Questions, answered

In a memory folder inside your Corey workspace - plain, readable files that hold a profile of you and your work, an index, and a note of what it still needs to learn. The files are yours; nothing is stored on Corey's servers.
Yes. Open the memory folder and edit the text. Corey reads it at the start of each session, so your change is picked up next time. If you would rather not touch files, tell Corey the correction in plain English and it updates them for you.
Tell Corey to remove it, or delete the relevant lines in the memory files yourself. Because everything it remembers lives in files you control, forgetting is as simple as editing text.
