One per cent of revenue goes to each of ten climate and good-cause programmes. That is ten per cent in total, and it comes off the top - built in rather than bolted on, in good years and lean ones.
Ten separate 1% shares
Not a single 10% pot that ten programmes take turns drawing from. Each one has its own 1%. So yes - 1% really does go to Stripe Climate, and another 1% to WWF, and so on.

Ten is a number we had to earn, not a round one we liked
Two organisations used to sit on this list and no longer do. Neither was dropped on merit. Both are commitment platforms you join rather than organisations you can give a share of revenue to - the SME Climate Hub is free and has no donation to make, and 1t.org took pledges of trees rather than money, and stopped existing under that name in January 2026 when it became the Forest Future Alliance.
Removing them took the list from twelve to exactly ten, which is the only count at which ten one-per-cent shares add up to the ten per cent we publish. We would rather say that plainly than keep two logos that made the row look longer.
Funded, not measured - and we would rather say so
Running an AI has a real energy and compute footprint. We are not going to put a number on Corey's until we have one we can cite, because a climate figure invented to fill a gap is worse than an honest blank - especially on a page whose whole point is being precise about money.
So this is a funded commitment rather than a measured offset. We pay ten one-per-cent shares of our revenue to the ten programmes above. When there is a sourced, citable figure for the footprint of running Corey, it goes here with the citation attached.
It shapes what we buy, without overriding good sense
Where two tools do the same job, the one with the stronger climate posture wins. That rule has a limit, and we would rather state it than pretend otherwise: we stayed on a cheaper host rather than pay several times over for a greener one at our size. The pledge shapes the stack; it does not override frugality, and a commitment funded out of real revenue only stays funded if the business stays alive.

You will notice there is no "we have donated £X" figure here. That is deliberate. Attributed amounts go up when they are computed from our actual revenue records rather than typed into a page by hand and left to drift - which is exactly how a number goes stale for months without anyone noticing.
