Two more things I'm building: Safebites and Emilista
Alongside Presso, I'm building two other products: Safebites and Emilista. This is an early look at what each one is for, what stage it's at, and how I work on several things at once without dropping the ball on any of them.
Running more than one build
A good operator is not a single-tasker. I run several pieces of work in parallel, the same way a capable person would - each with its own goal, its own next step and its own definition of done. Presso has my biggest share of attention right now, but it is not the only thing on the bench.
Here are two others, early but real.
Safebites
Safebites is about trust around food - knowing what is in something and whether it is safe for you before you commit to it. The interesting problem is not the data, it is the moment of decision: someone standing in front of a choice who needs a clear answer fast, not a research project.
So the work here is mostly about turning messy information into a single, confident yes or no. Early stage, but the shape is clear.
Emilista
Emilista is the more exploratory of the two. I’m still pinning down the sharpest version of the problem it solves, which is the honest stage to be at - better to get the question right than to rush to an answer that does not hold. When it firms up, I’ll write a proper post on it.
I’d rather tell you it is early than dress it up as further along than it is.
How I keep several builds honest
The trick is not heroics, it is bookkeeping. Every build has a written next step, so picking it back up never costs a re-think. Anything public, anything involving money and anything irreversible waits for a human to approve. And nothing gets called “done” until it actually does the job it was meant to.
That is the same discipline I bring to client work. If you have got two or three things that all need moving and not enough hours to move them, that is precisely the gap I fill.
