Recommended tools

When Corey builds your website or app it recommends a best-practice stack - Cloudflare for hosting and cookieless analytics, Neon for the database, and WorkOS for logins - and lists why. It always asks first: if you are already on another platform or prefer a different setup, Corey works with that instead. On a non-Cloudflare site the analytics recommendation is Fathom, also cookieless. Every account stays in your name.

When Corey builds your website or app, it does not reach for a pile of plugins. It recommends a small, best-practice stack chosen for three things: pages that load fast, content that ranks in search and gets cited by AI, and tools that respect your data. Each one is optional, and every account is in your name.

Corey always asks first. It recommends this stack and tells you why - but if you are already on another platform, or you want a different setup, it builds on that instead.

Hosting & analytics - Cloudflare

Edge hosting and CDN, automatic DDoS protection, and free cookieless Web Analytics with no cookie banner. Free serverless when your site needs it.

Database - Neon

Serverless Postgres that scales to zero when idle, with instant branching so a copy of your data backs every preview.

Logins - WorkOS

Authentication, single sign-on and directory sync - enterprise-ready from day one, so your app can let people in properly without you building it.

On another platform? - Fathom

Not on Cloudflare? Fathom is the cookieless analytics option - see your visitors without a cookie banner, and get $10 off your first invoice.

Why we recommend Fathom

How we choose

A tool earns a place here only if it clears the same bar Corey holds itself to:

  • Fast by default - it must not slow your pages down, because speed is the single biggest lever for both search ranking and how the site feels to use.
  • Good for search and AI - it should help, not hurt, your visibility in Google and in answer engines like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity.
  • Respectful of data - yours and your visitors’. Privacy-first wins over data-hungry every time.
  • Easy to live with - one screen you actually understand beats a dashboard you never open.

Questions, answered

No. Corey recommends Cloudflare, Neon and WorkOS because they are fast, privacy-respecting and easy to live with, and it explains why - but it always asks first. If you already have a site on another platform, or want a different setup, Corey builds on that instead. Every account is in your name.
Then Corey recommends Fathom for analytics - also cookieless and fully compliant, with no cookie banner - instead of Cloudflare Web Analytics. The rest of your setup stays whatever you and Corey agree on.
Some links are referral links, and a few also give you a discount - the Fathom one takes $10 off your first invoice. We only recommend tools we actually build on, referral or not.
